In a statement issued by Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, it has been confirmed that the Asia Cup will take place in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to 28. The tournament schedule will be announced at a later date.
A total of eight teams will participate in the tournament, including Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong.
Pakistan and India are set to face each other at least twice during the event, with the possibility of a third clash if both teams reach the final. The eight participating teams will be divided into two groups, and the top four teams will advance to the Super Four stage.
It is worth mentioning that India was originally scheduled to host the 2025 Asia Cup. However, after India’s refusal to tour Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy, Pakistan also made it clear that it would not send its team to India for the Asia Cup.
