Karachi U-18 win Allama Iqbal Day Basketball

Karachi U-18 team beat Reflection School 38-34 to win the title of the One-day Allama Iqbal Day Basketball Tournament organised by Pakistan Sports Welfare Association (PSWA) in collaboration with Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) at Abdul Nasir Courts in Arambagh on Fridaynight.

In this closely fought finale, Karachi U-18 displayed a superb game with Shariq Suleman 13 points, Hassan Ali 11 and Saad Salahuddin 10 points.

For the runners-up the main scorers were Ibrahim Naveed 10 points, Muhammad Daniyal Khan 10 and Ahmed Ali 8 points.

Karachi U-18 team, St Patrick’s, Reflections School and The City School Darakhshan Chapter took part in the event.

Prominent Pakistan-origin Sports Physiotherapist of Malaysia, Syeda Tanveer Zaidi was chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion she said that Malaysia and Pakis­tan are time tested friends and ties between the two countries will further strengthen in times to come. She said she was impressed by the quality of basketball displayed by both teams and said the Malaysian government will soon invite the winners Karachi U-18 for tour to Malaysia.
