The ICC Women’s World Cup match between Pakistan and New Zealand was washed out due to rain in Colombo. New Zealand Women had opted to field first, and the game was initially reduced to 46 overs per side because of weather conditions.

When play resumed after an early delay, Pakistan’s batters struggled against the Kiwi bowling attack. Omaima Sohail scored 3, Muneeba Ali 22, and Sidra Ameen 9 runs before getting out.

Rain interrupted the match again, forcing players off the field. When play resumed, Pakistan lost two more wickets and were 92 for 5 after 25 overs, with Aliya Riaz unbeaten on 28 and Sidra Nawaz on 6.

Persistent rain and a wet outfield eventually forced the match to be called off, with both teams sharing one point each.
