ODI Series: Pakistan Defeat five wickets West Indies in First Match

Pakistan took a 1–0 lead in the three-match ODI series after beating West Indies by five wickets in the opening game in Trinidad.

Batting first, West Indies were bowled out for 280 in 49 overs, with Evin Lewis scoring 60, Shai Hope 55, and Roston Chase 53. Shaheen Afridi claimed 4 wickets, while Naseem Shah took 3.

Chasing 281, Pakistan lost early wickets but captain Mohammad Rizwan (53), debutant Hassan Nawaz (63*), and Hussain Talat (41*) guided the team to victory in the 49th over. Hassan Nawaz was handed his debut cap by team manager Naveed Akram Cheema before the match.

Shamar Joseph took 2 wickets for the hosts, while Carty, Motie, and Chase claimed one each.
