The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has approved a significant increase in cash rewards for national athletes who win medals in international competitions. The revised cash award policy was issued following the approval in the 34th board meeting.

Under the new policy, the cash prize for winning a gold medal in the Olympics has been increased from PKR 10 million to PKR 30 million. Silver medalists will now receive PKR 20 million (previously PKR 7.5 million), and bronze medalists will get PKR 10 million (previously PKR 5 million).

In the Asian Games, the reward for a gold medal has been raised from PKR 7.5 million to PKR 15 million. Silver medalists will be awarded PKR 7 million, while bronze medalists will receive PKR 5 million.

For the Commonwealth Games, the prize for a gold medal has been increased from PKR 5 million to PKR 7.5 million. Silver medalists will get PKR 5 million, and bronze medalists will receive PKR 3 million.

The revised policy also categorizes World Championships into three tiers. Winners of quadrennial (every four years) world championships will now receive PKR 7.5 million.

Asian Championships have also been divided into three separate categories. Similarly, rewards for Commonwealth and junior-level championships will be determined based on the duration and level of each event.

A separate reward policy has been created for snooker. Athletes who win the Snooker World Championship will receive PKR 1.5 million, while winners of the Asian Snooker Championship will get PKR 750,000.

In squash, a player who wins the British Open or an equivalent event will be awarded PKR 10 million. Winners of junior-level squash events will be eligible for PKR 5 million under the new policy.
