Seven Pakistan players picked in BPL Draft

Seven Pakistan players have been picked in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Draft.

According to details, Dhaka Platoon snapped up pacer Wahab Riaz, hard-hitting batsman Asif Ali and former all-rounder Shahid Afridi.

Khulna Tigers bagged the services of fast-bowler Mohammad Amir.

Rajshahi Royals picked all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz and pacer Mohammad Irfan, meanwhile Chattogram Challengers roped in all-rounder Imad Wasim.

The country’s cricket governing body has taken control of the Bangladesh Premier League, which was launched in 2011, and will drop the franchises from the upcoming season.

The BPL — which was dogged by match-fixing scandals and delayed pay for some foreign players — has been renamed the Bangabandhu BPL and will kick off on December 11.
