The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, the 13th edition of the tournament, will be hosted across India and Sri Lanka the fourth time India will stage the event. Over five weeks, 31 matches will be played at five iconic venues, culminating in the final on November 2.
DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai Opened in 2008, the DY Patil Stadium has a capacity of 45,300, making it India’s ninth-largest cricket venue. It has hosted major IPL finals and became a women’s international ground in 2022. The venue will host up to five World Cup matches, including a semi-final and possibly the final.
Assam Cricket Association Stadium, Guwahati With a capacity of 46,000, this is the largest venue of the 2025 tournament. Since its opening in 2012, it has hosted men’s and women’s internationals as well as the IPL. It will stage five World Cup matches, including the opening clash between India and Sri Lanka and one of the semi-finals.
ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium, VisakhapatnamKnown for its spin-friendly pitches, the ACA–VDCA Stadium seats 27,500 fans and has been a regular IPL venue. It hosted its first men’s ODI in 2005 and women’s international matches since 2010. The ground will stage five World Cup matches, including India’s high-profile encounter against defending champions Australia.
Holkar Stadium, IndoreRenamed in 2010 to honour the Holkar Dynasty, this 30,000-capacity ground has hosted Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, along with IPL matches. In 2025, it will host five Women’s World Cup fixtures, including India’s clash against England.
R. Premadasa Stadium, ColomboThe only venue outside India, Colombo’s iconic stadium can host 35,000 spectators. With experience in hosting major ICC events including the 1996 and 2011 Men’s World Cups and the 2012 Men’s T20 World Cup final it will be a key venue of the 2025 edition. Colombo will host up to 13 matches, potentially including the final.
