Karachi : The 35th National Games concluded with Pakistan Army emerging as the dominant force, as Field Marshal Asim Munir attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. The National Games, held in Karachi from December 6 to 13, concluded with a grand ceremony at the National Bank Stadium.
Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and Sindh Minister for Sports Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar were also present on the occasion.
During the ceremony, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari presented Field Marshal Asim Munir with a traditional Sindhi Ajrak and cap.
Pakistan Army clinched the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy with an overall tally of 353 medals, while WAPDA finished second with 232 medals and Navy secured third position with 110 medals.
Awards were also distributed among athletes who delivered outstanding performances during the Games. At the end of the ceremony, the National Games flag was formally handed over to officials of the Punjab Olympic Association, where the next edition of the National Games will be held.
