Pakistan has been granted the hosting rights for both the World Masters and Asian Masters Weightlifting Championships.

The government has approved Islamabad as the venue, following which the Sports Board has issued an NOC to the Weightlifting Association.

Association President Arshad Khan announced that the events are dedicated to Banyan Marsous and Ma’raka Haq.

He stated that more than 500 male and female weightlifters from 50 countries will compete, adding that hosting these prestigious events is a great honor for Pakistan.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan previously participated in the Asian Masters Championship held in Qatar, where it secured 10 medals.
