In their debut season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, Hyderabad Kings Men secured a place in the final after defeating Islamabad United in a nail-biting contest. The final will be played on Sunday in Lahore between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kings Men.
In the second eliminator of PSL 11 at Gaddafi Stadium, Hyderabad Kings Men edged past Islamabad United by 2 runs to qualify for the final.
After winning the toss, Islamabad United opted to field first.
Hyderabad Kings Men posted 186 for 5 in their 20 overs. Usman Khan played an unbeaten knock of 61 runs. Captain Marnus Labuschagne scored 39, Saim Ayub added 38, while Kusal Perera contributed 37 runs.
For Islamabad United, Imad Wasim took 2 wickets, while Chris Green, Richard Gleeson, and Faheem Ashraf claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Islamabad United fell just short, scoring 184 for 7 in their 20 overs while chasing 187.
Mark Chapman top-scored with 43 runs, Haider Ali made 31, and Devon Conway added 30. Shadab Khan scored 22, while Chris Green chipped in with 21 runs.
Hyderabad’s fast bowler Hunain Shah successfully defended 6 runs in the final over, guiding his team into the final.
For Hyderabad Kings Men, Hunain Shah and Mohammad Ali took 2 wickets each, while Hassan Khan, Saim Ayub, and Akif Javed picked up one wicket apiece.
