The 8th Alpha Sports Festival concluded with great enthusiasm, featuring outstanding performances by over 7,500 students from 70 educational institutions across Karachi who showcased their skills in various sports.
Organized by the renowned Alpha Education Network, this year’s festival proved to be one of the most memorable editions yet. Students competed fiercely in 18 different games, displaying passion, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the 28-day event.
The closing ceremony was held in a festive atmosphere, graced by Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Sindh Munawar Ali Mahesar, Director Sports Asad Ishaq, DSO Ismail Shah, Farid Ali, and several other dignitaries, alongside a large number of participants and guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Munawar Ali Mahesar praised the organization of such events at the grassroots level, calling them vital for youth development. Kashan Iqbal, Director of Alpha Education Network, highlighted that the Alpha Sports Festival has become one of the most popular inter-school events in Karachi, successfully promoting sports culture and healthy competition among students.
Alpha College Dean Saima Raza commended the enthusiastic participation of female students, emphasizing their growing role in school sports.
At the end of the ceremony, awards and cash prizes were distributed among the winners. Alpha Education Network secured the championship title, while Karachi Grammar School claimed second place and Nixer College finished third. Munawar Ali Mahesar announced cash rewards of PKR 100,000 for the winners, PKR 75,000 for runners-up, and PKR 50,000 for third place.

The festival featured competitions in archery, rowing, cricket, futsal, basketball, badminton, dodgeball, table tennis, volleyball, scrabble, chess, and several other sports. Senior Sports Managers Majid Rasool and Najma Ghias, along with Alpha’s coaching staff, played a key role in ensuring the event’s success through their dedication, expertise, and exemplary sportsmanship.
