Cricket World Cup: Bangladesh defeated by England by 137 runs

Dharamshala: In the Cricket World Cup event held in Dharamshala, a city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, England achieved their first victory in the mega event by defeating Bangladesh by 137 runs.

According to official sources, in the 7th match of the Cricket World Cup, England batted first and scored 365 runs, while in response, the Bangladesh team managed to play 48.2 overs and scored 227 runs, losing all their wickets.

As Bangladesh began chasing England’s score, their start was not impressive. The Bangladeshi openers, Tamim Iqbal and captain Shakib Al Hasan, could only score one run each. Similarly, Mehidy Hasan Miraz managed to score only 8 runs, and Najmul Hossain Shanto was out without contributing any runs.

Later, Liton Das and Mosaddek Hossain put up a partnership of 72 runs, but Liton was dismissed for 76, and Mosaddek managed to score 51 runs. Mahmudullah contributed 39, Mehidy Hasan 14, Taskin Ahmed 15, Shoriful Islam 12, and Mustafizur Rahman 3 runs before getting out.

England’s Reece Topley took 4 wickets, and Chris Woakes took 2 wickets. Sam Curran, Mark Wood, Adil Rashid, and Liam Livingstone each sent one player back to the pavilion.
