Dublin : Ireland Women defeated Pakistan Women by 11 runs in the first T20 International of the three-match series held in Dublin.
Batting first, the Irish team was bowled out for 142 runs in the final over. Amy Hunter top-scored with 37 runs, followed by Laura Delany with 29 and Orla Prendergast with 28 runs.
In reply, Pakistan Women fell short in the run chase, managing 131 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Chasing 143, the national side couldn’t build enough momentum to secure a win.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 4 wickets for 26 runs.
The second T20I of the series will also be played in Dublin on Friday.
