Karachi : Pakistan Day Celebrations: Olympian Islahuddin and Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah Hockey Academy Hosts Thrilling Exhibition Matches; Olympians XI, Women’s Orange, and Juniors Blue Emerge Victorious
In a spectacular display of hockey, Olympian Islahuddin and Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah Hockey Academy organized three exhibition matches to mark Pakistan Day. The matches featured Olympians XI, Women’s Orange, and Juniors Blue, with each team showcasing their skills and talent.
The highlight of the event was the Olympian XI vs. International XI match, where the former emerged victorious with a score of 2-1. Arif Bhopali scored both goals for the Olympians, while Irfan Sr. scored the only goal for the International National XI.
In the girls’ match, Orange beat White 2-0, with Sahresh Sabir and Yamuna Fatima scoring the goals. In the boys’ match, Blue beat White, with Huzaifa Shahid scoring the winning goal.
The event was held under floodlights, and the chief guest, Sector Commander Sachal Rangers, Pakistan Rangers Sindh Brigadier Altaf Ahmed, lauded the initiative and encouraged more such events to be organized. The chairman of the academy, Olympian Islahuddin, also stressed the significance of Pakistan Day and thanked the chief guest for gracing the occasion.
Former Test cricketer Sadiq Muhammad, Begum Asma Ali Shah, Ayesha, Mahfooz-ul-Haq, and other dignitaries were present at the event. The winning teams received trophies from the chief guest, and the ceremony ended with the presentation of a commemorative shield to the chief guest by Olympian Islahuddin.
