Lahore, 22 August – The newly elected Executive Committee of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), led by President Syed Mohsin Gilani, held its first important meeting in Lahore with full attendance of all members.

During the session, members unanimously decided to relieve former Secretary General of the FIFA Normalisation Committee, Shahid Khokhar, of his duties. Sources confirmed that the committee emphasized that only the newly elected representatives of PFF have the authority to appoint a new Secretary General.
The committee further resolved to appoint an interim Secretary General for a period of 15 days, who, along with his team, will oversee the process of electing a permanent Secretary General. Applications from interested candidates will be invited, and a final decision will be made based on the unanimous approval of the committee.

In addition to this, various committees were formed, and the federation’s future roadmap was discussed. The 15-point agenda included key issues such as the launch of franchise and premier leagues, approval for new accounts, discussions on the Challenge Cup, and the formation of a media committee.
Former FIFA Normalisation Committee Secretary General Shahid Khokhar was present at the meeting, but members expressed displeasure over his presence. They noted that his official tenure had ended on 31 July and that he no longer holds any authority. Despite this, he continued to attend office, which caused concern among members. During the meeting, he was reportedly seen visibly upset and embarrassed, as many believe his tenure caused significant damage to football in Pakistan.

The meeting also recognized and praised Arif Shehzad from Sindh for being elected as the youngest member of the PFF Executive Committee.
