Secretary General of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Haider Hussain, announced through a press release that hosting the FIH event is an honor. After the 1990 World Cup, Pakistan will host a tournament consisting of 8 teams. The grounds of Pakistan during the 1990 World Cup were packed with spectators. It is hoped that the FIH Olympic Qualifying Round will also witness a similar enthusiasm from the fans.
PHF Secretary General Haider Hussain stated that this event will be the first step towards the revival of the golden era of hockey in Pakistan. The FIH event will be organized in a splendid manner.
He further mentioned that PHF President Brigadier (Retired) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar has been actively working towards the revival of international hockey in the country. The FIH Olympic Hockey Qualifying event will take place in Lahore from January 13 to 21, 2024.
