First IoBM Super League Inter-University Cricket Championship 2024

Karachi : The first IoBM Super League (ISL ’24) Inter-University Cricket Championship 2024 saw two exciting matches today at Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA), Gulberg.

The first match was played between Zebul University and FAST University. Zebul University, batting first, set a target of 192 runs in 20 overs, losing 4 wickets. FAST University fought back strongly, scoring 184 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. The match went down to the last ball in a thrilling encounter. For FAST University, Azan Naveed played a key role with a knock of 89 runs. However, it was Zebul’s captain, Abubakar, who was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance, scoring 65 runs and taking 1 wicket.

The second match featured IBA University and MITE University. IBA won the toss and chose to bat first, putting up an impressive total of 222 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets in 20 overs. The standout performance came from Ayan Ans, who scored a brilliant century, marking the first triple-figure score of the championship. In response, MITE University struggled to maintain the required pace and only managed 96 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs, making it a one-sided contest. Ayan Ans’ outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
