India continues to create obstacles one after another in an attempt to affect the Champions Trophy. Now, it has raised a new demand regarding the event’s opening ceremony.

Since Pakistan was awarded the hosting rights for the 2025 Champions Trophy, India has been trying to sabotage the event. Stubbornly maintaining its position, India has already moved its matches to Dubai under the hybrid model. Recently, India raised a controversy by insisting that the name of Pakistan should not be written on the players’ jerseys. Now, it is attempting to influence the Champions Trophy’s opening ceremony and the captains’ meeting as well.

Indian media has created another issue, claiming that Indian team captain Rohit Sharma will not attend the opening ceremony if Pakistan is involved. Therefore, they have suggested that both the opening ceremony and the captains’ meeting should be moved to Dubai, where India will play its matches. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to relocate both events to Dubai ahead of the tournament so that captain Rohit Sharma can participate.
