Junior Asia Cup Hockey: Pakistan beat Thailand by 9 goals to 0 in their second match

Oman : Salalah: In the ongoing Junior Asia Cup in Oman, Pakistan suffered a defeat against Thailand with a score of 9-0 in their second match. Pakistan’s first goal was scored by Abdul Hannon Shahid in the final minute of the first quarter. The second goal came in the 19th minute by Abdul Rahman, followed by the third goal in the 30th minute by Abdul Wahab. The fourth goal, through a penalty corner, was scored by Abdul Rahman in the 41st minute. Abdul Rahman continued his impressive performance by scoring the fifth goal in the 46th minute, followed by a sixth goal in the 48th minute, completing a hat-trick. The eighth goal was scored by Arbaz Ahmed in the 53rd minute, and the ninth goal was scored by Murtaza Yaqoob in the 54th minute. Abdul Rahman was declared the Player of the Match.

The team is accompanied by Manager and Chief Coach Olympian Hanif Khan, Coaching Panel’s Asif Ahmed Khan, Olympian Zeeshan Ashraf, Team Consultant Rovelment Altmans, Video Analyst Syed Ali Abbas, and Physiotherapist Waqas Mahmood.

The participating teams in the Asian Junior Hockey Cup have been divided into two pools. Pool A consists of Pakistan, India, Japan, Thailand, and Chinese Taipei, while Pool B includes Korea, Malaysia, Oman, Bangladesh, and Uzbekistan. Pakistan will play its third match against arch-rivals India on 27th May, and with Japan on 29th May. It should be noted that the national team suffered a defeat in their opening match against Chinese Taipei with a score of 15-1.
