National Hockey Team Receives Grand Welcome on Return from Sultan Azlan Shah Tournament.

The national hockey team, winner of the silver medal in the Sultan Azlan Shah Tournament, has returned to the country from Malaysia. Prime Minister’s Youth Program Chairman Rana Mashood, former captain Chaudhry Akhtar Rasool, Mohammad Saqlain, and Anjum Saeed, along with other former players and hockey enthusiasts, welcomed the national hockey team at Lahore Airport.

On this occasion, Rana Mashood mentioned that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a reward of ten lakh rupees for each player of the hockey team, in addition to which the players will also be meeting the Prime Minister.

Yesterday, Pakistan won the silver medal in the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament after 13 years, with Japan defeating Pakistan in the final. Before the final, the Pakistan team had been unbeaten in the event, winning three matches and drawing two.

Pakistan had won the bronze medal in the previous event. Pakistan last played the final of the Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament in 2011 and won the tournament for the last time in 2003.
