According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the captain and chief selector were given a free hand to select the national squad for the ICC One Day World Cup 2023, with hopes that this team will bounce back.

In a press release issued by the PCB, the performance of the national team in the World Cup was discussed. PCB expressed its commitment to fully support the national team and appealed to cricket enthusiasts to stand by the team.

The press release stated that PCB acknowledges the emotions and sentiments of cricket enthusiasts, especially after the team’s consecutive three losses.
