The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended cricketer Haider Ali after Greater Manchester Police launched a criminal investigation against him during Pakistan Shaheens’ tour of England. Reports suggest the case involves a complaint filed by a woman.
According to sources, Haider was held in custody for three days and released on bail, with restrictions preventing him from leaving the UK. His passport remains with the police, and he has been summoned again in two weeks.
The PCB, through the Pakistan High Commission, has arranged legal support for Haider, appointing British-Pakistani lawyer Barrister Moin Ali. While details remain undisclosed, the alleged incident reportedly took place during the recent England tour.
Haider Ali has been placed under provisional suspension and is barred from all cricket-related activities until the investigation concludes. The PCB will await the legal outcome before deciding on any further disciplinary action.
This is a major setback for Haider, who has previously represented Pakistan in T20Is and ODIs.
