PHF has announced a training camp for the 45-player national hockey team to prepare for the Asian Champions Trophy

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced a national hockey training camp consisting of 45 players for the formation and preparation of the Pakistan hockey team participating in the Asian Champions Trophy. PHF has also announced the new management of the national senior hockey team, with Colonel R. Umar Sabir appointed as the manager and Olympians Rehan Butt and Mohammad Saqlain included in the coaching panel.

According to the details, after the final approval of President PHF Brigadier R. Khalid Sajjad Khokhar on the recommendations of Chairman Selection Committee Olympian Kaleemullah Khan, a summer camp under the auspices of Pakistan Hockey Federation has been organized for the training of 45 players. The following players are included in the camp:

Goalkeepers: Abdullah Istiaq (Mari Petroleum), Akmal Hussain (WAPDA), Ali Raza (Punjab), M. Faizan Janjua (Customs), Waqar (WAPDA), Abdullah Shaikh (Sindh), and Bilal Khan (Balochistan).

Defenders: Arbaz Ahmed (Mari Petroleum), Mohammad Sufian Khan (KPK), Mohammad Abdullah (Mari Petroleum), Aqeel Ahmed (WAPDA), M. Bilal Islam (Customs), Saad Shafiq (Punjab).

Midfielders: Javed Manzoor (National Bank), Ihtesham Islam (Mari Petroleum), M. Murtaza Yaqoob (WAPDA), M. Baqir (Punjab), Arbaz Ayaz (Sindh), M. Nadim Khan (KPK), M. Zain (Customs), and M. Imad (Customs).

Forwards: Rana Abal Waseh (WAPDA), M. Umar Bhatta (WAPDA), Afraz (Mari Petroleum), Abdul Hannon Shahid (WAPDA), Roman (WAPDA), M. Shahzeb Khan (Customs), Osama Bashir (PAF), M. Imran (PAF), Arshad Liaquat (Mari Petroleum), Abdul Wahab (Sindh), Abdul Rahman (WAPDA), Zikria Hayat (Navy), Ali Murtaza (Customs), Basharat Ali (Navy), Abdul Qayyum (Customs), Bilal Akram (Punjab), M. Adnan (Sindh), Rana Sohail Riaz (Customs), Waqar Ali (Mari Petroleum), Shoaib Khan (KPK), Abdul Wajid (Balochistan), Timur Javed Khan (Punjab), Syed Shahbaz Haider (Navy), and M. Arslan (Punjab).

Furthermore, the Pakistan Hockey Federation has also announced the management of the Pakistan Senior Hockey Team. Colonel R. Umar Sabir has been appointed as the manager of the Pakistan Senior Hockey Team, while the coaching panel includes Olympians Rehan Butt, Mohammad Saqlain, Olympian Dilawar Hussain, and International player Abdul Haseem Khan. Goalkeeping coach responsibilities will be fulfilled by International Abdul Ghaffar, and Mohammad Shahid will be the physiotherapist. The physical trainer will be acquired from the Pakistan Army.

Under the supervision of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, a national hockey training camp for the preparations of the Asian Champions Trophy will be held in Lahore from 12th June. The Asian Champions Trophy will be played from 3rd to 12th August in the city of Chennai, India.
