Prime Minister Announces PKR 1.5 Million Reward for Each Player After Pakistan Qualifies for Hockey World Cup

Pakistan’s national hockey team has returned home after delivering an impressive performance in the Hockey World Cup Qualifier held in Egypt. Upon arrival, the team received a warm welcome at Islamabad Airport from Federal Parliamentary Secretary Kiran Dar, officials from the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), and representatives of the Pakistan Hockey Federation.

President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Mohiuddin Wani, also met the players and praised their outstanding performance. He stated that the team now needs to focus on strong preparations for the upcoming Pro Hockey League and the Hockey World Cup.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a reward of PKR 1.5 million for each player in recognition of their remarkable performance in the qualifiers.

Before the World Cup, Pakistan will compete in the Pro League, where they are scheduled to play matches against Belgium, Spain, India, and England.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan’s national hockey team has qualified for the Hockey World Cup after eight years. The 2026 Hockey World Cup will be held from August 14 to August 30 in Belgium and the Netherlands.
