Tri-Nation Series: Afghanistan Edge Past UAE by 4 Runs

In the Tri-Nation Series clash in Sharjah, Afghanistan defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 4 runs in a thrilling contest.

Chasing a target of 171 runs set by Afghanistan, UAE managed to score 166 for 5 in their 20 overs. They required 17 runs off the final over but could only add 12, falling short by 4 runs.

Captain Muhammad Waseem’s 44 and Asif Khan’s 40 went in vain. Alishan Sharafu contributed 27 runs, Rahul Chopra scored 7, while Harshit Kaushik remained unbeaten on 15.

For Afghanistan, Fareed Ahmad, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Noor Ahmad, and Abdullah Ahmadzai claimed one wicket apiece.

Earlier, Afghanistan, batting first, posted 170 for 4 in their allotted overs. Ibrahim Zadran top-scored with 48, Rahmanullah Gurbaz made 40, while Karim Janat (28) and Gulbadin Naib (20) also chipped in.

For UAE, Haider Ali took two wickets, while Sumeranjeet Singh and Muhammad Farooq picked up one each.
