West Indies women’s cricket team defeated Pakistan women’s team by 113 runs.

Batting first in the match played in Karachi, West Indies Women’s team captain, Hayley Matthews, won the toss and opted to bat. The West Indian team set a target of 270 runs, with Pakistan Women’s team getting bowled out for 156 runs in pursuit.

Captain Hayley Matthews led from the front with a splendid century, scoring 140 runs with the help of 15 boundaries, while Shemaine Campbelle contributed 45 runs prominently.

From Pakistan’s side, Sadia Iqbal and Tuba Hassan claimed 2 wickets each. However, Pakistan Women’s batting faltered in pursuit of the target, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Pakistan Women’s team got all out for 156 runs in the 36th over. Tuba Hassan was the top scorer for Pakistan with 25 runs.

It’s worth noting that the series consisting of three One Day Internationals is part of the ICC Women’s Championship.

The second One Day International between Pakistan and West Indies Women’s teams will be played on Sunday.
