Lahore: A decision has been made to form a 32-member squad for the Pakistani cricket team for the upcoming Cricket World Cup in 2023.

According to a private TV channel’s report, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to create a squad of 32 players for the World Cup, an increase from the previous limit of 30 players. This squad will consist of both players and officials, with 23 individuals being covered by the International Cricket Council (ICC) expenses, while the remaining expenses will be borne by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

For the Cricket World Cup, the Pakistan cricket team will travel with 15 players and an additional 3 reserve players. Sources suggest that only 15 players will be under consideration at the time of selection, and the 3 extra players will not be available for selection.

According to a PCB spokesperson, in case of an injury, the ICC Technical Committee may grant permission to include one of the reserve players in the team. The 3 reserve players will practice with the national team, but on match days, they will stay in the hotel and will not be allowed access to the team’s dressing room.
