In a thrilling match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Australia secured a five-wicket victory over England, thanks to a stunning century by Josh Inglis.

Australian captain Steve Smith won the toss and opted to field first. England posted a formidable total of 351/8 in 50 overs, led by Ben Duckett’s magnificent 165-run knock.

England’s Innings

Ben Duckett and Phil Salt opened for England, but Phil Salt was dismissed early in the second over after a stunning catch by Alex Carey. Jamie Smith followed soon after, scoring 15 runs.

With two wickets down for just 43 runs, Ben Duckett and Joe Root built a solid partnership, guiding England to a competitive total. Duckett played an exceptional innings of 165 runs, including 3 sixes and 17 fours, while Root contributed 68 runs.

Captain Jos Buttler added 23, Jofra Archer 21, Liam Livingstone 14, Jamie Smith 15, Phil Salt 10, Brydon Carse 8, and Harry Brook 3.

For Australia, Ben Dwarshuis claimed 3 wickets, while Adam Zampa and Marnus Labuschagne took two each. Glenn Maxwell picked up one wicket.

Australia’s Chase

Australia also faced early setbacks, losing two wickets for just 27 runs. However, Matthew Short and Marnus Labuschagne steadied the innings with a crucial partnership.

Labuschagne was dismissed for 47 at a team total of 122, followed by Short, who scored a valuable 63. Alex Carey and Josh Inglis then formed a match-winning partnership, pushing the score to 282 before Carey departed for 69 runs.

Josh Inglis remained unbeaten on 120 off 86 balls, smashing 6 sixes and 8 fours. Glenn Maxwell provided a quick-fire cameo, scoring 32 off just 15 balls.

Australia successfully chased down the target in 47.3 overs, losing five wickets in the process.

England’s Bowling Performance

Mark Wood, Jofra Archer, Brydon Carse, Adil Rashid, and Liam Livingstone took one wicket each for England.
