Karachi, In the ninth and final round of the President’s Trophy Grade One, Ghani Glass secured a commanding 279-run victory over WAPDA on the third day. Star performer Khurram Shehzad claimed 10 wickets in the match.
At NBP Sports Complex, WAPDA was set a daunting target of 425 runs but was bowled out for just 145. Mohammad Arif was the top scorer with 51 runs.
Khurram Shehzad delivered an outstanding bowling performance, taking 6 wickets for 40 runs, bringing his match tally to 10 wickets. Mir Hamza also contributed with three wickets.
At State Bank Stadium, Higher Education was given a target of 395 runs to win. By the close of play, they had reached 50 runs without losing a wicket.
Earlier, OGDCL declared their second innings at 256/3 against Higher Education. Umair Riaz played a superb unbeaten knock of 115, while Raja Hamza Waheed scored 87 runs.
Higher Education had been dismissed for 293 runs in their first innings. Mushtaq Kalahoro took 4 wickets for 106 runs, while Sardar Ahsan Raza claimed three wickets.
At KCCA Stadium, KRL was set a massive target of 538 runs to chase against State Bank. By stumps, they had reached 100/1.
Before that, State Bank declared their second innings at 568/9. Aqib Shah was the top scorer with a brilliant 189, hitting 19 boundaries. Irfan Khan Niazi scored 96, while Rameez Aziz made 68. Mohammad Irfan took 4 wickets for 190 runs, and Sharoon Siraj picked up three wickets.
At UBL Sports Complex, Ishal Associates, forced to follow on against SNGPL, reached 247/6 in their second innings. Danish Aziz remained unbeaten on 77, while Mohammad Haris scored 55. Shahnawaz Dahani took three wickets.
Earlier, Ishal Associates had been bowled out for 147 in their first innings. Mohammad Salman and Mohammad Ali both took four wickets, conceding 22 and 47 runs, respectively.
