Chennai: In the fifth match of the ICC World Cup, India defeated Australia by 6 wickets.

In the match played in Chennai, Australia won the toss and chose to bat, scoring 199 runs for 10 wickets in 49.3 overs.

India had lost three wickets for just two runs. Both openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, were dismissed for zero, while Shreyas Iyer was also out without scoring.

After that, a partnership of 165 runs was established between Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. In the eighth over, Virat Kohli was caught easily by Marcus Stoinis at 12 runs, which he took full advantage of.

Australia had set a target of 200 runs for India, which the Indian team achieved with a loss of 6 wickets in 41.2 overs. In this, India’s top batsman Virat Kohli scored 85 runs before getting out. KL Rahul scored 97 and Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten with 11 runs.
