In the sensational final match of the Junior Asia Cup played in the city of Salalah, Oman, Pakistan faced a defeat against India by two goals to one. Pakistan’s only goal was scored by Basharat Ali in the 38th minute. While Angad Singh and Arijit Singh scored one goal each for India. At the end of the event, Abdul Hanan Shahid was declared the best player and Ihtsham Aslam Rising Star Player while Abdul Rehman was declared the top scorer in Junior Asia Cup Hockey.
It should be noted that Pakistan has qualified for the Junior World Cup to be played in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 5 to 16 December 2023.
