Karachi : Dynamites emerged victorious against Blasters in the fourth match of the Pakistan Cup Women’s One-Day Cricket Tournament, defeating them by 78 runs.
This marks Dynamites’ third consecutive win in the tournament.
The toss for this match, played at State Bank Ground, was won by Blasters’ captain Muneeba Ali, who elected to field. Dynamites batted first and set a target of 214 runs for 4 wickets in 45 overs, with Muneeba Ali leading the charge with a brilliant knock of 214 runs in 45 overs, the highest individual score in the tournament so far. Captain Sadia Amin also contributed significantly with 95 runs. Blasters, in response, could only manage 136 runs in 37.3 overs before being bowled out.
After Khadija Chishti’s dismissal for 5 runs, Sadia Amin and Bisma Maroof partnered to add 130 runs to the total. Despite falling short of a century by just five runs, Sadia Amin faced 100 deliveries, including 13 boundaries.
Bisma Maroof, on the other hand, was dismissed by Saba Nazir after scoring 65 runs off 95 deliveries, including two fours and a six.
Saba Nazir and Diana Baig took two wickets each for Blasters.
For Blasters, Ayesha Zafar and Dua Majid added 42 runs for the first wicket before both got out in quick succession. Ayesha Zafar scored 30 runs with the help of five boundaries before being caught by Bisma Maroof off Rameen Shamim’s bowling. Dua Majid contributed 9 runs before being caught by Nida Dar off Noshra Sandhu’s delivery.
Frequent wicket losses hindered Blasters’ progress in the match.
Captain Muneeba Ali scored 33 runs off 57 deliveries, including a boundary, which proved to be the highest individual score for Blasters in the innings.
Rameen Shamim took three wickets for 25 runs for Dynamites, while Noshra Sandhu, Maham Munir, and Ghulam Fatima claimed two wickets each.
Sadia Amin was awarded the Player of the Match for her excellent innings of 95 runs.
The fifth match of the tournament will be played between Challengers and Blasters on Wednesday.
