Lahore: The Balochistan Hockey Association, in collaboration with the Pakistan Hockey Federation, is making significant efforts to promote and develop the national game in the country. The ongoing training camp for the Pakistan Junior Under-21 players, organized by the federation in preparation for the Junior Hockey Asia Cup, is being held at DHA Hockey Arena in Lahore, and has received commendable support from DHA Lahore. The training camp, under the supervision of Manager Olympian Hanif Khan and Coaches Panel Olympian Zeeshan Ashraf, International Asif Khan, International Adnan Zakir, Drag Flicker Coach Rana Zubair, Goalkeeper Coach Mazhar Abbas, and physical trainer Imran Ahmad Khan, has been ongoing from April 26 to May 20.
During his visit to the National Junior Hockey Training Camp, Nawabzada Mir Lashkari Raisani, Chairman of Balochistan Hockey Association, expressed his appreciation for the support provided by Brigadier Waheed Gul Sati of DHA Lahore for the training of the national junior hockey team in adverse conditions. He also commended the DHA for providing the best training opportunities to the players and called the initiative to organize a campus for the Pakistan Hockey team as the best initiative for the national game. Raisani encouraged the players to work hard to become heroes, and met with talented goalkeeper Bilal Khan from Balochistan and coach Olympian Zeeshan Ashraf.
Secretary General of Pakistan Hockey Federation Haider Hussain, Chairman of Balochistan Hockey Association Nawabzada Mir Haji Lashkari Raisani, and Director of Punjab Domestic and Development Rai Usman Akbar inaugurated the ongoing training camp and expressed their good wishes to the players. The camp has provided the players with training and physical fitness exercises, and it is hoped that the Pakistan Junior Hockey Team will participate in the Junior Asia Cup with national enthusiasm and bring home the trophy.
