Pakistan Sports Board Pays Salary to Foreign Hockey Coach

According to details, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has made the payment of salary to the foreign coach, Siegfried Aikman, of the Pakistan Hockey Federation. The PSB has issued a check of PKR 13.5 million for the period from November 2021 to April 2022. The Director-General of the Pakistan Sports Board, Shoaib Khoso, handed over the check of the coach’s salary to the Secretary-General of the PHF, Haider Hussain. The member of the Selection Committee of the PHF, Olympian Shakil Abbasi, was also present on the occasion.

On this occasion, the Secretary-General of the PHF, Haider Hussain, said that he is grateful to DG PSB Shoaib Khoso and Minister of IPC Ehsan Mani for their special initiatives and cooperation in the payment of the foreign coach’s salary. Initially, the Sports Board has made a payment for a five-month salary of the foreign coach. He further added that without the cooperation of the Government of Pakistan, Inter-Provincial Coordination Ministry, and Pakistan Sports Board, the development of national sports is not an easy task. Despite financial difficulties, the PHF has ensured participation in international events. Pakistan has improved its international ranking in recent events and has won two medals in the recent three international events. This marks the beginning of the journey towards the progress of Pakistan hockey.

Olympian Shakil Abbasi stated that DG Sports Board Shoaib Khoso is doing an exemplary job and playing an important role in reviving hockey by cooperating with national sports.
