Karachi :The fifth edition of the Sedar Inter College Cricket Tournament concluded successfully in Karachi. Teams from ten educational institutions participated in the four-day event. What made this tournament special was the use of pink cricket balls and matches consisting of seven overs per side. Each team fielded eight players in the action-packed matches.
The matches of the three-day group stage were played at Al-Nadi Al-Burhani Cricket Ground. The knockout stage matches took place on the final day. In the final, Nexus College clinched the title by defeating Credo College with a splendid display of cricket, winning by forty runs. Despite Credo College scoring a hundred and thirteen runs, Nexus College managed to outscore them. Martin, the Chief Executive of Sedar College, emphasized the importance of sports alongside education, aiming to provide a platform for young players to showcase their talent.
Director of Sports, Ahmed Saeed, mentioned that the tournament began with eight teams five years ago and has now expanded to sixteen teams. Plans are underway to include teams from other cities in the tournament next year.
