Lahore Qalandars’ captain Shahin Afridi is determined to clinch the trophy for the third consecutive time in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Shahin Afridi stated that while they have won the title twice before, they aim to continue the streak of victories. Playing in front of a home crowd is enjoyable, and though they hoped the final would be in Lahore again, it is now scheduled for Karachi.

He mentioned the team’s good preparation and highlighted the importance of Rashid Khan’s role, acknowledging that his absence would be felt but expressed confidence in other bowlers stepping up to fill the gap.

shahin Afridi asserted his fitness and readiness, emphasizing that he has never bowled at 150 km/h but typically operates between 135 to 140 km/h, with a focus on accuracy.

The captain of Lahore Qalandars emphasized the significance of PSL performances, hoping that the players would earn a place in the national team through their performances. He praised Lahore Qalandars for their player development program, stating optimism in the local players’ ability to perform well and win matches.

Discussing his role as captain of the national team, Shahin Afridi stated that captaining Pakistan is an honor, even though the results haven’t always been favorable. He reflected on good performances in New Zealand but emphasized the need for time for everything.

He stressed that in modern cricket, good batting and bowling aren’t enough; fielding also needs to improve. Hard work is being put into all three aspects, and backing the team for victory is essential.
