In the fifth and deciding one-day match, Pakistan suffered a 165-run defeat against Sri Lanka, securing Sri Lanka’s victory in the series.

Karachi:Sri Lanka’s Under-19 cricket team secured the series win by defeating Pakistan’s Under-19 team in the crucial fifth one-day match with a margin of 165 runs.

The final match of the five-match series took place at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on a Monday. Pakistan Under-19 won the toss and elected to field first. While batting, Sri Lanka’s Under-19 team posted a total of 293 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

The visiting team’s better, Santh Jayawardene, played a significant innings, scoring 82 runs, while Rodrigo and Perera contributed with 66 and 47 runs, respectively.

On the Pakistani side, Abid Shah, Muhammad Ibtesam, and Arfat Manhas took 2 wickets each, while Aftab Ahmed, Naveed Ahmed Khan, and Haroon Arshad claimed one wicket each.

Pakistan’s Under-19 team struggled to achieve the required target and was bowled out for 128 runs in 32.3 overs. Arfat Manhas was the standout performer for Pakistan with 57 runs, while Shamul Hussain contributed 14, Tayyab Arif scored 11, Haroon Arshad made 17, Hamza Nawaz scored 13, and Naveed Ahmed Khan managed 9 runs.
