WAPDA Emerges Victorious in the Finals of the 34th National Games Men’s Hockey”

Quetta: According to the details, the final match of men’s hockey took place between WAPDA and Army during the ongoing 34th National Games in Quetta. WAPDA secured a victory with a two-goal lead against their opponents. Special guests at the match included the Chairperson of Pakistan Hockey Federation Women’s Wing, and Sindh’s Provincial Minister, Shehla Raza. Other officials present at the event included Secretary General of Pakistan Olympic Association, Khalid Mahmood, and Secretary General of Pakistan Hockey Federation, Haider Hussain, along with event chief coordinator, Syed Amin, and other officials.

Prior to the special guest match, both teams’ players were introduced to each other. The match was extremely thrilling as both teams launched attacks on each other’s goalposts from the beginning. However, the goalkeepers proved unsuccessful in the first half as Army gained a one-goal advantage. In the second half, WAPDA equalized the match with a goal. However, in the final moments of the match, WAPDA scored another goal, securing the final win and claiming the gold medal. Army settled for the silver medal, while the Air Force earned the bronze medal. In a pre-event match for the third-place position, the Air Force and Navy played against each other, maintaining an equal score until the designated time. To decide the match, a penalty shootout was given, in which the Air Force scored four goals against Navy’s three, ultimately winning the match.
