In a triumphant farewell, table tennis legend Ma Long led China to their 23rd Swaythling Cup at the ITTF World Team Championships 2024 in Busan. The final match against France saw a commanding 3-0 victory, securing China’s dominance in the sport.

Despite France’s strong return to the finals after 27 years, Ma Long’s leadership ensured China’s victory. Wang Chuqin and Fan Zhendong’s stellar performances set the stage, with Ma Long sealing the deal against Simon Gauzy.

Reflecting on his final World Championships, Ma Long expressed gratitude for his team’s support and highlighted the promising future of Chinese table tennis. China’s triumph reaffirms their legacy, while France’s silver reflects their resurgence.
