The 18th Sindh Games trophy went to Karachi.

Karachi: Karachi emerged victorious with an outstanding performance at the culmination of the 18th Sindh Games, securing the Mohenjo Daro Trophy, while Hyderabad clinched the second position with 30 medals and Sukkur attained the third position with 14 medals.

Karachi’s triumph in the events of the Sindh Games was marked by remarkable achievements, with the Fair Play Trophy also being awarded to Mirpur Khas. Karachi secured the first position overall in the events with a total of 168 medals, including 115 gold medals in men’s events and 53 medals in women’s events. In contrast, Hyderabad secured 30 medals with 23 golds in men’s events and 7 medals in women’s events, securing the second position. Sukkur secured the third position with a total of 14 medals, including 13 golds in men’s events and 1 medal in women’s events.

Special guests at the closing ceremony, Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. Junaid Ali Shah, along with Cultural Director Javed Ali Shah, distributed medals to athletes and prizes to other personalities. Secretary Sports Sindh, Abdul Hadi Balo; Secretary Sindh Olympic Association, Ahmed Ali Rajput; Secretary Organizing Committee of Sindh Games 2024, Asghar Baloch; Media Coordinator Kashif Ahmed Farooqi, and others were also present.

Karachi claimed the Sindh Games Trophy, while Hyderabad and Sukkur secured the second and third position trophies respectively. In individual competitions, Karachi’s Sefinaz secured the first position in women’s athletics, while Junaid Baloch of Karachi clinched the title in men’s athletics.

The conclusion of the 18th Sindh Games was marked by a spectacular fireworks display, despite a few setbacks. Secretary Sindh Olympic Association, Ahmed Ali Rajput, Media Coordinator Kashif Ahmed Farooqi, and Asghar Baloch were honored with appreciation shields for organizing the event successfully. Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Sports, Dr. Junaid Ali Shah, also distributed honorary shields to the guests. Secretary Organizing Committee of Sindh Games 2024, Asghar Baloch, expressed gratitude to all the guests.
