Osman Khan eligible to play for Pakistan national team, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi

Lahore: Speaking to the media, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated that Osman Khan is eligible to play for the Pakistan national team and he will play. The matter of Osman Khan’s selection is under consideration.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided that after the announcement of the ban by the Emirates Cricket Board, Osman Khan will be eligible to play for the Pakistan national team.

He said that the squad for the series against New Zealand will be announced on April 9.

PCB Chairman told the media that the Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan, whether the Indian team comes to Pakistan or not is premature, but teams from outside will also come to Pakistan.

He said that the decision regarding foreign coaches for the national team will be made by April 15, advertisements have been given for coaches, and their names will be finalized after interviews by April 15, and the announcement will be made a day or two later.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the availability of foreign coaches for the series against New Zealand is on contract with them.

He said that the upcoming season of the Pakistan team is very busy, first Ireland, England, then the World Cup, Bangladesh, England, and series against South Africa including Australia.

He said that before the Champions Trophy, a series of short-form matches is also scheduled in Pakistan. Teams will come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy and the series of short-form matches.

It is remembered that a few days ago, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) imposed a five-year ban on top-order batter Osman Khan for violating the contract.
