Pakistan Makes Spectacular Start in Asia Cup, Defeats Nepal by 238 Runs

Multan: The Pakistan cricket team kicked off the Asia Cup with a splendid performance, boosting the nation’s morale even higher.

In the opening match of the event, the Pakistan cricket team defeated Nepal by a significant margin of 238 runs. Pakistan had set a target of 343 runs while batting first, and Nepal’s entire team was bowled out for a total of 104 runs.

Shadab Khan took 4 wickets, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi took 2 wickets each, while Mohammad Nawaz and Naseem Shah took 1 wicket each. For Nepal, Sompal Kami scored 28, Arif Sheikh scored 26, and Gulshan Jha managed 13 runs. No other Nepalese player could enter double digits.

Earlier, in the opening match of the Asia Cup in Multan, Pakistan won the toss, chose to bat first, and scored 342 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. They then set a target of 343 runs for the opposing team.

Captain Babar Azam scored 151, Iftikhar Ahmed scored 109, and Mohammad Rizwan contributed 44 runs. Opener Fakhar Zaman, however, failed to make any significant score once again, managing only 14 runs before losing his wicket. Imam-ul-Haq and Agha Salman scored 5 and 4 runs respectively, while Shadab Khan managed to add just 4 runs.

For Nepal, Sompal Kami took 2 wickets, while Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane took 1 wicket each.
